Your Questions

What happens if my pet is ill out of hours?

In the event that your pet becomes unwell out of hours then please do not hesitate to contact us on 028 66 347 613. The vet will tell you what immediate action to take and then meet you at the practice for assessment of your pet.

If you are unsure about the well-being of your pet during our working hours, please get in touch rather than waiting as out of hours calls are stressful for you and your pet. You will be arriving at the vets at a time when we don’t have the full complement of staff and unfortunately it is also more expensive for you.

Do you accept credit cards?

Yes, we accept all major credit and debit cards, including contactless payments.

Should I get my puppy or kitten insured?

Yes, we always recommend pet insurance. Unfortunately unwell or injured pets can occur at the most unlikely and inopportune times. There are great advances in veterinary medical and surgical treatments but unfortunately these come at a cost and having insurance can ensure you can provide the best for your pet.

How do I order repeat prescriptions for my pet?

You can fill in the form at the bottom of this page which will notify us of your request for a repeat prescription. We can then prepare and dispense your medication ready for collection. Depending on your pet, the illness and the course of treatment, repeat prescriptions can vary; just because you received one treatment on repeat for a few months doesn’t mean that the next one or another medication will be prescribed for the same time period.

Existing Clients

We want to ensure all our clients’ needs are met. If we can be of any help please do not hesitate to call or send us a message.

Routine healthcare

If your pet has been treated at Cara Veterinary Clinic, we would like to assist you in routine flea and worming treatments. If your pet needs some of these routine preventative treatments, you can put in a request in the form on the right. We can then process and package these ready for collection at a time that suits you. We need a recent weight for your pet to give accurate treatments.

Repeat medications

If your pet has been authorised to have repeat medications these can be requested by filling out the form on the right. The request will then be reviewed by the vet and it will be decided if a continued course of the medication is best for your pet. If your repeat is authorised it will be processed and packaged ready for collection and we will give you a call or send a text message to notify you. Please allow 48 hours for processing of all repeat medications and include the names of all drugs requested.

Pet Photos

Cara Veterinary Clinic was named after Helen’s dog who is pictured on the home page. We would like you to send us photos of your pets to join her on our website.
